○ Introduction of TaLK Program:
The Korean Government is sponsoring - The 'TaLK (Teach & Learn in Korea)' program and is inviting adventurous global leaders to teach English to students and to experience and learn about Korean culture. Participants will receive Korean government scholarships and teach English in after-school classes of Korean elementary schools while enjoying cultural programs during their free time. Recipients will be placed at schools in rural areas in need of greater exposure to English and teach the language by forming one-on-one working relationships with Korean university student volunteers. Candidates should have a desire to work with children, have a service-centered mind, a willingness to work in rural areas, and have consideration for others with a positive attitude.

○ Benefits:
1. Monthly Stipend: 1.5 million KRW (approximately 870 GBP)
2. Settlement Allowance: 300,000KRW (one-time payment)
3. Entrance and Exit Allowances (KRW 1.3 million)

○ Eligibility (Applicants must)
- Be a citizen of one of the following countries where the national language is English: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom or the United States of America.
*Overseas Korean Nationals with permanent residency in the above countries are also eligible.
*Korean Nationals with temporary residency (with the intention of obtaining permanent residency) who have lived in one of the above countries for at least 8 years and have completed primary and secondary education in the country are also eligible.
- Third-year Bachelor's degree candidates, or Associate's degree holders who completed their education at an accredited post-secondary institution in one of the above countries.

○ Duty
- Working for the designated elementary schools in 7 metropolitan and provincial areas (Gwangwon,
Chungnam, Incheon, Jeju, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, Gyongbuk) in Korea
*Teaching English in after-school classes: 15 hours per week

○ Contract Term: 6month or 10month
- 10month (April 1, 2016 ~ January 31, 2017), Orientation (March 24, 2016 ~March 27, 2016)
- 6month (August 1, 2016 ~ January 31, 2017), Orientation (August 7, 2016 ~August22, 2016)

○ Application Deadline and Interview Schedule
- 1st Application Deadline: February 15(Mon), 2016, Interview: February 22(Mon) ~26(Fri), 2016
- 2nd Application Deadline: April 11(Mon), 2016, Interview: April 18(Mon)~ 22(Fri), 2016
- 3rd Application Deadline: May 16(Mon), 2016, Interview: May 23(Mon) ~ 27(Fri), 2016
※ Interview schedule will be discussed individually after the application


○ Arrival date in Korea
- 10month Contract: March 23(Wed), 2016
- 6month Contract: August 6(Sat), 2016

○ How to Apply
- Application procedures: Online application (www.talk.go.kr)
- Initial application documents (Application A, B) must be submitted on-line through the Talk website, and
the following application documents and support materials must be submitted to the Education Centre of
the Embassy of the Republic of Korea by post or visit.
① Application Form A – Submit after downloading it from online and adding a hand-written signature
② Application Form B (Medical Form, Essay) - Submit after adding a hand-written signature
③ Lesson Plan
④ An Official School Transcript (Stamped and Sealed)
⑤ Two Recommendation Letters (Signed and Sealed)
⑥ A Letter of pledge – Signed (Included in Application Form B)
⑦ An Apostilled, Nationwide Criminal Record Check (National level, must be issued within six (6) months from the application submission date)
⑧ A Copy of the Passport Photo Page
⑨ A Copy of Permanent Residency Certificate (for Korean Nationals)
