The 2020 Hangeul and Korean Culture Essay Competition is run by Korean Education Centre in the UK, in partnership with the University of Oxford.
As an extended event of our 2020 Special Summer Korean Class Webinar “History of Hangeul and King Sejong” and 2020 Autumn Term Special Korean Lectures, we would be delighted to hold this essay writing competition to listen to young people in the UK about what they have learned from the series of lecture and what they felt about the history of Hangeul and King Sejong and Korean culture.
□ ESSAY TOPIC
Any topic related to Hangeul and Korean culture
□ ELIGIBILITY
Students of primary or secondary schools including Sixth-form colleges, who have attended one or more sessions of our special lectures, are eligible for entry.
□ ENTRY GUIDE
• ENTRY FEE
All entries are free of charge.
• SUBMISSION
Entries must use the form attached by typing in your essay on the form in English. The length of the essay is expected to be a maximum of 3,000 words. Please submit your essay and the completed application form in PDF format by email to educentre@mofa.go.kr. Please do not forget to sign on your application form before submission.
• DEADLINE
The competition will be open for submission from Saturday 22nd August, right after the 2020 Special Summer Korean Class Webinar, and the deadline for entries is Sunday 6th September at midnight.
