2020 Invitation Program
for Distinguished TOPIK Achievers
The Korean Government would like to invite active university students who have distinguished themselves on the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK)! This program is designed to provide its participants with an invaluable, enriching experience in Korea. Any individual who is eligible and interested may apply.
Program Period
Selected individuals will be invited to participate in our program in Korea over the course of 10 nights and 11 days, from July 7th (Tuesday) through to July 17th (Friday).
Participant Numbers
One (1) individual will be selected each from 15 different countries, for a total of 15 participants.
Hosting Organization
The 2020 Invitation Program for Distinguished TOPIK Achievers will be hosted by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED), Ministry of Education located within the Republic of Korea.
Qualifications
All of the following qualifications must be met:
- Must be a current undergraduate university student in active studies
- Must have taken and successfully completed TOPIK within the last two years (March.1.2018.~Feb.29.2020)
- Must be able to communicate in Korean (conversational)
Responsibility of Expenses
- NIIED: Round trip airfare, accommodations, meals, and traveler’s insurance in Korea
- Selected Participants: Cost of Visa Issuance, Transportation fare in his/her country, etc

Homestay Accommodations |
2-4 selected participants per family |
Additional Activities |
Visitation to a Broadcasting Network Station, Korean Folk Village, Amusement Park, etc. |

*Please also confirm the name of the airport for departure in your email.
Important Notices
- The program will be offered in a combination of English and Korean.
- Shared accommodations will be provided.
- Meals provided will be mostly of Korean variety.
- While the TOPIK Team will endeavor to ensure special dietary requests are met, this cannot be guaranteed.
- Program Staff will be present during the activity phase of the 2020 Invitation Program.
- Personal plans and activities are prohibited during the entirety of the program.
- Participants are strongly encouraged to make efforts to develop a deeper understanding of Korea, including but not limited to language, education, culture, and so forth by visiting and looking through www.studyinkorea.go.kr before their arrival.
