1. Program Objective

Global Korea Scholarship is designed to provide higher education in Korea for international students with the aim of promoting international exchange in education, as well as mutual friendship amongst the participating countries.

 

2. Number of the UK candidates: 4 (Embassy Quota)

 

3. Period of Scholarship

o Master’s (01.09.2020~ 31.08.2023) : 1 yr. of Korean language + 2 yrs of Master’s course

o Doctoral (01.09.2020 ~ 31.08.2024): 1 yr. of Korean language + 3 yrs of Doctoral course

 

4. Application Submission

[Deadline] All the application documents should arrive by Thursday 12 March 2020 by POST at the following address:

[Documents preparation]

o Please refer the list of required documents from the 'GKS application guidelines' attached.

o Four separated sets of application forms and documents should be submitted: one set of original and three sets of photocopied application forms and documents.

**Please do not staple on the original set.**

o Two different recommendation letters should be enclosed in each set of application forms and documents. You will need four sets of two recommendation letters in total. Each letter must be sealed and signed by the recommenders.

o Your photo should be attached firmly on the application form. You may also insert the photo while you fill in the form on the computer.

o Please find attached the 'GKS UK Grade Conversion' to convert your grades into GPA(eg. 3.87/4.5)

o Please note that submitted documents will not be returned to the applicants.

 

5. Interview Date

Please note that successful candidates after the document screening process will receive an invitation email on Monday 16 March to attend an interview on Friday 20 March 2020. No other dates are available unfortunately. The selected candidates MUST attend their interviews in person at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the UK.

 

6. Result Announcement

o [1st Round] The result of the 1st round will be available on Friday 27 March. All the candidates who attended the interview at the embassy will be contacted by email with their results.

o [2nd Round] The 2nd round successful candidates will be announced on Study in Korea(www.studyinkorea.go.kr < scholarship < GKS Notice) on Friday 22 May.

o [Final Result] 2020 GKS Graduate Degree Scholars will be announced on Study in Korea(www.studyinkorea.go.kr < scholarship < GKS Notice) on Friday 26 June.
