Korean Speech Contest 2018


 


Let’s Speak Korean


 


Date: Sat. 9th June 2018 - 14:30


 


Venue: Korean Cultural Centre UK


 


Participants: Anyone not of Korean descent, must be over 18.


Please also note that 1st prize winners from previous Korean Speech Contests cannot enter again, however, 2nd prize winners and runners-up from previous contests are welcome to apply again. 


 


Group A: Those who have received regular Korean courses for less than 2 years at the King Sejong Institute


Group B: Those who have received regular Korean courses for over 2 years at the King Sejong Institute


Group C: Anyone else who speaks Korean but has not attended the King Sejong Institute


 


*The King Sejong Institute refers the KCCUK language course, the SOAS Korean language course and the language course by the Korean Education Centre of the Korean Embassy.

Themes: Applicants can choose either ‘The most impressive thing about Korean culture is…’ or ‘free theme related to Korea’


Any props, video clips, ppt etc. are also welcome but let us know when you apply how you plan


to include props in your presentation/speech.


 


Length of Speech: 3-5minutes

Available Spaces: 30 successful applicants will be contacted by e-mail after the application window has closed.


 


Contest Evaluation Criteria Korean proficiency including pronunciation, grammar and expression, topic and content of theme, delivery of speech etc.


 


Awards


Gifts will be provided for the 1st and 2nd positions of each group.


 


Competition Hosted by SOAS King Sejong Institute, Education Centre in Embassy of the Republic of Korea and Korean Cultural Centre UK.
