RECRUITMENT for  

2019-2021 Global Korea Scholarship Ambassadors 

○ Term: July, 2019 ~ June, 2021 ( 2 years ) 

○ Number of Ambassadors: 1 or 3 persons per country 

○ Requirements:  

• The GKS alumni who successfully achieved a degree in Korea 


• The alumni who are socially active within their home countries 


• The alumni who are enthusiastic about promoting GKS and the government scholarship opportunities under the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) 

○ Benefits: 

• A certificate of appointment 


• GKS Alumni Souvenir 


• Financial support for public events organized in cooperation with the Korean Embassy 


• Preferred consideration for the participation in GKS Alumni Invitation Program, scheduled in the last week of November (Note: The date is subject to change.) 

○ Duties 

The prospective GKS Ambassadors will work for the promotion of GKS and the networks of alumni association through a variety of activities, including, but not limited to, the followings:  

• Provide consultation to the local communities about the academic and exchange program opportunities in Korea 


• Promote GKS programs 


• Work with the Korean Embassy in the selection procedure of GKS towards the end of increasing the quality and quantity of potential applicants 


• Give lectures on a variety of topics related to Korea 


• Contribute articles for the GKS e-Newsletters 


• Vitalize the GKS alumni association and its activities both on-line and off-line.  


• Share the success stories of other GKS alumni from the same country 

○ How to Apply 

• Submit the following documents to the Korean Embassy in your home country 

1) Application form   

2) Passport Copy (photo page) 

• Deadline: 7th June , 2019 


• How to submit: Email the above documents to  [educentre@mofa.go.kr] 

○ Selection Procedure 

• (1^st Round) The Korean Embassy reviews applications and recommends selected candidates to NIIED. 


• (2^nd Round) The NIIED reviews the recommended candidates’ applications and appoints the GKS Ambassadors.
