1. TDA 어떤 기관인가?

  • 정부의 자금지원을 받는 비부처 공공기관(non-departmental public body : NDPB)의 하나로서 교육기술부 장관에 의해 임명되는 이사회(Board)의 의사결정에 의한 운영. 이사의 임기는 3년.
  • Education Act 1994에 의거 과거의 TTA(Teacher Training Agency)와 NRT(National Remodelling Team)를 통합하여 2005년 설립된 기구
  • 독립기구이면서 교육기술부와는 상호 의존적 관계(interdependence)

 

2. 역할

  • 교사양성, 교사훈련, 연수 등 교사 및 교육담당 직원의 교육, 훈련, 양성을 담당하는 기구
  • 교원양성, 교사모집, 교육훈련, ITT(Initial Teacher Training), CPD(continuing professional development), remodelling school workforce, 수준별 학습, 방과후 학교 운영(extended school)

 

3. 운영 목표 (strategic aim)

  • Ensure schools have an adequate supply good-quality newly qualified teacher (양질의 자격교사 양성) - 2005/06년 41,900명이 ITT 시작
  • Enable schools to develop the effectiveness of their support staff (보조 인력의 업무능력 발전) - 보조교사, 회계직원(bursar), 행정직원 등
  • Enable schools to develop the effectiveness of their teachers and keep their knowledge and skills up to date (교사 수업기술 향상)
  • Support schools to be effective in the management of the training, development and remodelling of their workforce

 

4. 조직

  • TDA Development, ITT, Teacher Programme, Relocation, Strategy, Corporate Services, Wider Workforce Programme, Marketing and Communications, Finance 의 9개 부서로 구성
